Project Overview
How do you make the dangers of smartphone distraction in traffic truly tangible—real enough to leave an impact, yet completely safe?
Together with the Kuratorium für Verkehrssicherheit (KFV) and Illuminations, we created a mobile 270° cinema experience that brings this awareness directly into classrooms.
Based on real 360° footage and projected across three surrounding screens, students step into the heart of traffic and discover firsthand how quickly a simple glance at their phone can change everything.
Problem
Smartphone distraction is one of the leading causes of dangerous situations among young road users—and traditional safety education often fails to convey the real risk.
GOAL
Create an immersive learning experience that allows students to feel the dangers of distraction without exposing them to any real threat.
SOLUTION
A mobile 270° cinema using high-resolution 360° footage, enabling a VR-like traffic simulation—without headsets—where students can experience traffic from the perspective of a pedestrian, cyclist or scooter rider.
With its immersive 270° setup and realistic 360° scenarios, this mobile cinema brings road safety directly to schools in a way that is intuitive, memorable and barrier-free.
By placing students at the center of real-life traffic situations, it sharpens awareness for the dangers of smartphone distraction—and helps prevent accidents before they happen.
